Won't save gps info

I have the trial version and 10.6.2 mac - I upload a photo and gps track info from iphone app - it shows the gps info fine in the preview - and I hit 'write changed tags' but no gps info ends up in the photo.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what's going on. Is this what you're doing?

1. You're using the 'Auto' mode in the Geotagging Console to see the 'Proposed Locations' (the purple flags).
2. You click the 'Geotag x Photos' button, which turns the flags into pins.
3. You hit 'Write Changed Tags'.

Are these the step your taking?

Where does it appear that no gps info is in the photo? Can you see the latitude and longitude in the metadata viewer (on the left) in PhotoLinker?
