I'm also having problems with my iBlue 747, When I try to download the tracks, I get:

GPSBabel error:

mtk_logger: Can't create temporary file data.bin.

When using a mtk based GPS, gbsbabel first downloads a binary file data.bin to the current directory and then converts it to GPX. I noticed that GPSPhotoLinker is running gpsbabel from the root directory, and since I'm running it as a regular user, the data.bin file cannot be created there.

Ideally, GPSPhotoLinker could run from
~/Library/Application\ Support/GPSPhotoLinker/

Then I guess there would be no problem creating the file there.

(It would be nice if it would delete the file as well after using, but that's not so critical).

I'm on Snow Leopard (10.6.3) and use a brand new Holux M-241. GPSPhotoLinker is 1.6.4.
When I hit 'Download' and select Holux for GPSr plus HOLUX_M-241-SPPSlave for Input.

Error message is: mtk_logger: Can't create temporary file data.bin.

Done. Same error message.

Following the previous post on gpsbabel location I have assigned write access privileges to / directory. Download of the track form the device now works, but I get an CRC error from gpsbabel.
